*Snapshot Saturday*

It is 4:04 on Sunday morning (although still feels like Saturday since I haven't been to bed yet!) I just got finished with sweeping the kitchen, changing laundry over and cleaning my desk. I decided I might as well stop fighting trying to go to sleep and use my time wisely.

I am thinking the reason I am not asleep as we speak is the fact that I slept most of the day.

These are my new friends. I had twenty of them but have lost a few in the past few days. I think we might become best friends soon! This is my second round of meds and I am pretty confident that they are going to do the trick. Along with the rest that I have gotten the past two days.

When I wasn't sleeping I was reading "London Bridges" by James Patterson and finished that pretty quickly. Still have about nine more to go to finish the series, but Patterson puts out a book a week, so there could be more.

Hopefully next Saturday I will have a more exciting snapshot, well at least for you, this snapshot excites me a lot!

I also hope to get up my post about Literacy Lunch soon. We have already had three and I am uber excited to share with you all!

What do you do when you can't sleep? Do you do housework or am I just weird?

Sick of Being Sick

October 5th! I had to look back and see when I blogged last, I couldn't even remember, nor what I blogged about!

As much as I like October, we don't really get along. I have been sick all month long and I hate it! It has limited me on what I have been able to do. I have either been sleeping a lot or trying to catch up from sleeping so much!

Here are a few things I have not been able to do the past few weeks:
  • sing
  • kickboxing
  • laugh
  • blog
  • teach
  • have a conversation without coughing my head off
I have been to the doctor and am now on my second round of meds. Hopefully this go round is successful!

Please don't forget about me, as soon as I have some more time and energy, I will catch up. I do have a lot to say and to share!

In the mean time, keep looking for *heart flutters* all around you!

*Snapshot Saturday*

What a Saturday it has been! I had a hard time pulling myself out of bed for two reasons this morning. One, I was tired and wanted to keep sleeping and two, my whole body hurts! My kickboxing instructor pushed me pretty hard this week and I think there wasn't a muscle in my body that wasn't worked! It hurt to move!

None the less, I made it out of bed and then it kinda went down hill from there! First, I spilled my whole bowl of cereal all over myself and the floor (yes I had already showered and everything), then I was late to the wedding I was going to (mainly because I am map/direction challenged) and then the gift that I got for the couple didn't work out, but did I notice this before hand? Nope not at all. I noticed it as I was getting ready to wrap it out in the car in the parking lot!

Thankfully, things picked up after that filled with laughter and good music! The wedding and reception were beautiful! I learned today that I can not be a wedding photographer in my next life. I tried to get a picture of the bride and groom and for the life of me could not!

Afterwards, Molly and I went to grab a coffee and free Wi-Fi (so I could download my next book club book on my Kindle) and read a little bit. My *snapshot Saturday* is of the door to the coffee shop.

One of my favorite things to do is to sit and share stories over coffee with a friend.

List Challenge Day #5~ Fears

I just answered this question in a list from my sister this week. Weird that it showed up again.
  •  That I will always be alone
  •  That my children (in case fear 1 is moot) won't get to meet dad
  •  That I will loose my job
  •  Mustard
  •  Squirrels and those creepy gross camel spiders
Well that's it folks, more random ramblings.

Do you have any fears? Silly ones? Serious ones?

Friday Morning Rambles

Happy Friday! We have snow in Colorado...already. Where is my fall? Mother Nature sure can't make up her mind this year. At the beginning of the summer we were on fire and then at the end we were floating away. Now we have winter storm warnings. Sheesh.

Anyway, big weekend ahead! My kindred spirit, Lesley, is marrying her very own Gilbert Blythe!

I am also having a Pintrest fall party with Erica and Bre. Pumpkin tastiness and crafting!

More about each event to come.

List Challenge Day #4 ~ Favorite Animals

My students ask me often what my favorite animal is and I don't really have one. I have animals that I like, but not 100% wild about any of them. These four make me smile.
  • penguins
  • ducks
  • hippos
  • giraffes
Well that's that for today. Breakfast Burrito Friday and it's my turn to buy the goods!

Do you have a favorite animal? (Or am I the only weird one that doesn't have a favorite animal?)

Brave

It is no wonder I am behind both at school and at home, I choose to do things at times when I shouldn't. For example, it is 10:05 and I should be sleeping. I am tired and I do need to get up and get stuff done in the morning, but here I am!

I wanted to get my list post done before I went to bed, so there probably won't be any fancy stuff today. Sorry folks.

List Challenge Day #3 - Activities I'd do if I was brave

  •  Say all the things I have wanted to say to people in my life
  •  Loose weight
  •  Take and pass the PLACE test for ESL
  •  Climb this mountain
This was a lot harder of a list than I thought it would be. I may have to revamp it later when I have some more time to think about it.

Didn't get my mile in today, due to going to kickboxing and book club, but hope to make it up this weekend.

Sorry for the slightly lame post.

What would you do if you were brave?

You Complete Me

The title of this post would indicate that I have in fact seen the movie Jerry McGuire, but I have not. You would have to live under a rock to not know this famous line though!

So far so good on the challenge front!

List Challenge Day #2 - Things that complete my life

Well now this one is going to require a little more thought than day #1! I also think that this list may change from time to time, but for now, let's give it a go and see what comes out!

1. My faith

Even when I am weak in my faith, it is still a huge part of my life. I don't know where I would be honestly with out the love and care from my heavenly father.

2. My family

They say you can pick your friends, but you can't pick your family. Well, I would pick my family if I had to choice. Even if we drive each other nuts, they are family and they love me even when I am being ugly.

3. My friends

Friends are the ones you run to when family is driving you crazy! I interact with my friends more than I do with my family on a daily basis and many of them have seen my darker side and the depths of my heart.

4. My job

Even if I complain about my job (I mean who doesn't at some point) I do love what I do. I often think of my past teachers and the impact that they made on my life. Even this last week I talked with one of my high school teachers and was blessed with his wisdom and love. I want to be that for a student twelve years after they aren't in my class anymore.

5. Books

I would be lost without them. I can't go a day without reading something. I have a book with me at all times because you just never know when you would get a chance to read!

I also got up and did my second mile since I won't have time to do it later today.

What completes you?

Fall Bucket List Check Off ~ Go to a Play

Is there a rule in the blogging world that states how many posts you can write in one day? Hope not, because I am doing two today! Look at me go!

I am finally able to mark off an item off of my fall bucket list! On Sunday, I took my little sister to her first dinner theater! We went to see "She Loves Me" which is based off of the movie "Shop Around the Corner" which is what "You've Got Mail" is based on. I adore plays very much and wanted to share that experience with Molly.

For the life of me, I can not take a picture by myself! I am such a dork.

Also on Sunday, I had soup to go with Soup Sunday, but this time I didn't make it. My dear friend Jane made it. I was so jealous because she seriously just threw some stuff in a pot and warmed it up. It. Was. Amazing! Better than any of the ones that I have made from a recipe!

Maybe the soup just tasted so good because it was shared with friends!

Challenges in October

I should be at school right now working, but I am not. I am tired. So I am home, blogging. :0)

I love October even if sometimes we have a love/hate relationship!
For the month of October I want to be very ambitious and participate in three different challenges that I found on the Internet.

1. 31 Days of Lists Challenge
2. A push-up challenge
3. 31 miles in 31 days challenge

The list making one is a fun one and also one to help me journal more. I used to journal all the time, but since I graduated college and started teaching it has been pretty sporadic and I would like to do it more. I may or may not post all of the lists on the blog, but hope to do some of them because I think it is going to be fun.

Push-ups and I get along about as well as two cats tied together by their tails. I am not good at them. A year ago I was doing ok at them and then got sick and wasn't able to go to kickboxing for about a month and I haven't gotten back to where I was at. So I am going to show those push-ups who is boss and get better at them!

31 miles in 31 days is pretty self explanatory. I want to walk (and maybe jog a little) 31 miles in the 31 days of the month. The idea is mainly to get up and moving. I failed my goal from my fall bucket list for working out in September, so this is my redemption.

So without further delay, here we go!

List Challenge Day #1: Favorite Sounds
  1. When a child is truly, unadulterated laughing
  2. Water (rain, ocean, river, crick, swimmers doing the butterfly)
  3. Mac Powell's voice (from the Christian group Third Day. Makes my heart melt! AND while looking for a picture on the Internet, found out that he has a solo country album! Might have to check that one out!)
  4. The mountains (the silence, the breeze, the bugs, the elk, the trees, all of it!)

Ok, now I better get on the other two challenges before time runs out!

What are your favorite sounds?
